eVisitNB Update: We’re Here For You!

Last Updated: June 15, 2026

We know how important consistent healthcare is to you and your family. The Government of New Brunswick has extended the eVisitNB contract for publicly funded virtual care until June 30th, 2026.

Your Most Common Questions

Can I get bloodwork or a specialist referral through eVisitNB?

As a result of changes the Government of New Brunswick is making to virtual care services, eVisitNB will be unable to provide lab requisitions or initiate specialist referrals from June 16th onwards.
Patients who need lab work or referrals after June 15th should call Virtual Care NB at 1-844-953-3353.

Is eVisitNB closing on June 30th?

No. While publicly funded virtual care has only been extended by the Government of New Brunswick until June 30, 2026, eVisitNB will remain available after June 30th. Details of services and hours of operation will be shared closer to the end of June.

Do I have to pay? Does New Brunswick Medicare cover eVisitNB?

eVisitNB Nurse Practitioner On-Demand Consultations are FREE with a New Brunswick Medicare card until June 30, 2026.  Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate consultations without a valid Government of New Brunswick Medicare card.

What happens if my provider rejects my consultation request?

If your provider rejects your consultation request, you will receive a notification and a reason.

What happens if my provider cannot help me during my video, phone, or messaging consultation?

On the rare occasion that the provider determines that you need an in-person examination within the first few minutes of your consultation, or that they cannot help you with your request, you will be advised of your best options, and the visit will conclude.

Can I choose my healthcare provider?

Our On-Demand Option will match you with the first available eVisitNB healthcare provider. This allows us to meet your needs in the most efficient and timely fashion. Your provider will have access to your previous medical history and consultations on eVisitNB.

How do I get my prescription?

After your consultation is completed, select “PICK UP” to send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. If you are unable to find your pharmacy on the map, please email support@getmaple.ca

Is eVisitNB safe and secure?

eVisitNB only lists healthcare providers licensed in the Province of New Brunswick who are in good standing with their professional regulatory organizations. Your privacy is our top priority. You can learn more about how your data is handled in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Can I request a consultation for my children or a parent?

Yes, you certainly can! When booking the consult, select that you're booking for "someone else", add their information, and proceed with making an appointment.  At the time of the consult, you and the individual for whom the consult is intended will both need to be present.

Do I have to be physically located in New Brunswick during my appointment?

Yes, all patients seeking care via eVisitNB must be physically located in New Brunswick.
